HEERF Cares Act Acknowledgement
Final Acknowledgement of Receipt of CARES Act HEERF
Presentation College has applied for HEERF and has signed and returned the Certification and Agreement form to the Department of Education. Presentation College will distribute no less than 50% of the funds received under Section 18004 of the CARES Act as emergency financial aid grants directly to students.
Presentation College received $500,000 in total from the CARES Act HEERF. As of the date of this acknowledgement, $225,341 has been distributed to 206 students. The College estimates that approximately 186 students were eligible to receive emergency financial aid grants to students under Section 18004 of the CARES Act.
Presentation College notified Aberdeen and Fairmont, MN, campus students of the availability of HEERF CARES Act funds via email as well as on the College’s website. Students were instructed to complete the application if they were experiencing hardships with basic needs such as food, course materials, technology, healthcare, childcare, or housing due to COVID-19.
The College developed a method for awarding and disbursing HEERF CARES Act funds to students as follows:
1. Students will complete application requesting funds for specific emergency financial aid due to COVID-19.
2. Application will be reviewed by the HEERF CARES Act Committee. Committee will make a decision based on student request and student need.
3. Students will be notified of award via PC email.
4. Paper check will be processed and mailed or EFT/ACH will draft to student’s bank account on file
This acknowledgement is available pursuant to compliance with Section 18004(e) of the CARES Act requiring institutions to post the above information on our primary website.
