Tegan McManaman came to Presentation College from Bowdle, South Dakota to fulfill her dream of becoming an RN.
For four years, Ms. McManaman balanced the rigors of the Nursing program and curriculum with the demands of the Saints Volleyball team. She says she maintained constant communication with her teachers and her coach in order to make sure she could manage classes and team activities efficiently.
As a nursing student, McManaman won several scholarships from various groups, including the Avera Health Foundation, Walter and Dorothy Graham, Davis Family, Oahe Foundation, and the 40/8 PC Nursing scholarship. She served as an officer for PC Nursing Student Association and the South Dakota Nursing Student Association. She was named PC’s Outstanding Junior Nursing Student during her junior year and selected as the Outstanding Nursing Student at the state convention during her senior year. McManaman’s next step takes her to Sioux Falls where she has a job as an RN in the Emergency Department at Avera McKennan Hospital. She says she wants to gain real work experience before returning to school in a few years to pursue her Master’s degree in Nursing.
