Eligibility
Requirements for Environmentally
Disadvantaged students (Option 2)
Qualifying eligibility
may include, but is not limited to the following
criteria:

The applicant graduated from or last attended a
high school with (based on most recent data
available) any one of the following criteria: |

ACT score of 15 or below;
-
low percentage of seniors
receive a high school diploma;
-
low percentage of graduates
go to college during the first years after
graduation;
-
low per capita funding;
-
class size of 5 students or
less; or
-
many of the enrolled
students are eligible for free or reduced
price lunches.

The applicant comes from a family that receives
or qualifies for any one of the following
criteria: |
-
receives public assistance
(e.g., Aid to Families with Dependent
Children, food stamps, Medicaid, public
housing);
-
non-English speaking
parents;
-
first generation student; or
-
lives in an area that is
designated under section 332 of the Act as a
health professional shortage area. Shortage

The applicant participated
in an academic enrichment program funded in
whole or in part by the Health Career
Opportunity Program (HCOP), authorized by
section 739 of the Act.
