Academic Year 2009-10

Scholarship Information

Presentation College Mission Statement: “Welcoming people of all faiths, Presentation College challenges learners toward academic excellence and, in the Catholic tradition, the development of the whole person.”

Leadership Grants are awarded to students who have worked toward fulfilling the outcomes of the Character Initiative and mission statement established by Presentation College. The outcomes are to encourage students to build their leadership skills; promote personal development; enhance opportunities for future career opportunities; and assist in establishing community relations.  The College believes volunteerism and participation in community activities is an essential element in educating the student toward life-long learning and enhancing their ability to create a positive influence on others.

Instructions

Students who are enrolled full-time (12 credits or more) in a full-tuition program may submit an application for consideration.  Please submit one application form for each community service project to which you have been an active participant.  “Community” may be defined as college, high school, home town, church, etc.   Scholarship amounts may vary and will be awarded based on the quality of the volunteer experience and demonstration of meeting the goals of the Character Initiative and the Presentation College Mission statement.  Incomplete applications and volunteer projects associated with the participation and performance in a school sponsored athletic event will not be considered.  Students must apply annually and must maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average.  Funding is limited.  All applications must be submitted electronically.  Hand written applications will not be accepted.

Describe in detail the volunteer service project to which you have contributed your time and talents.  Please include the name of the organization, the purpose of the project, your specific role and your time commitment.
