
1. Complete the Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by going to http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/. You will need your most recent tax information to complete the FAFSA, as well as a Department of Education PIN number. If you need to request a PIN number, http://www.pin.ed.gov/. For dependent students, your parents' tax information is also needed, and one parent must also have a PIN number.
2. You will receive e-mail notification from the Financial Aid Office after your initial award offer has been posted to the student portal or if changes have been made to your award offer. The award offer may be revised based on notification of additional funding sources received; number of credits earned; or a change in enrollment status. Please view and finalize your award offer by completing the following steps within two weeks of receiving the e-mail notification:
Select My Financial Aid to view your award offer. Each type of aid will be listed by semester. In the upper left hand corner, you may select the specific term you would like to view.
If you would like to accept all aid as offered, simply click
the accept box. For funding sources you wish to
decline, select the decline button. If you would like
to reduce the loan amount offered, please select the decline
button and
email the Financial Aid Office with the amount you would
like to borrow.
3. All new Stafford Loan borrowers must complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN) at www.studentloans.gov
4. New Stafford
loan borrowers must also complete
Entrance Counseling at
the above website.
5. By accessing the student portal to
view your award offer, you are also certifying:
a. You reviewed and understand the Student Rights & Responsibilities as disclosed.
b. You will use these funds for educationally related
expenses.
c.
You will notify the
Financial Aid Office with information on any additional
outside
sources or scholarships you may receive.
d. You are receiving financial aid from only
one college.
6. If you were awarded a Perkins Loan, you will receive an e-mail notification at the beginning of each semester from "Sign My Loan" instructing you of additional steps needed to finalize your Perkins Loan.
7. If once you
view your billing statement via the Student Portal, you find you
need additional funding to help cover the costs of your
education, Presentation College also participates in the Parent
Plus and
Alternative Loan programs. Interest-free payment plans
are also available through the
Business Office.
All
aid must be finalized by August 1 to ensure adequate processing
time. If your file is incomplete, your aid may not be processed
prior to the start of classes and therefore you will be required
to make alternate payment arrangements with the Business Office.
It is the policy of Presentation College to collect tuition,
fees, and housing expenses on the first day of each term, even
if you have not finalized all of your financial aid.
Students without payment provisions will be charged a late fee
of $50.
Once registered for courses for each semester, you may view your billing statement on the student portal. If your financial aid exceeds the amount you owe the College and the above steps are complete, you may use a voucher to purchase books and supplies at the PC Bookstore.
