When will I get my refund?

Fall refund checks will be available on or after Sept. 24th.  You may also sign up for Direct Deposit.  Aberdeen campus checks will be at the Financial Aid office; distance campuses and online students' checks will be mailed beginning Sept. 24th.

 

 

Why can't I get my refund early?

Aid is not finalized until after the published add/drop period to ensure the funds you are being issued is correct based on your final enrollment status.  Therefore, the funds do not get to the college until after this is completed.  We also need at least 5 days processing time prior to issuing the funds to you.

Why do some students get more money than I do?

Each financial aid packaged is based on many different factors unique to each student.  If you have questions on your specific package, please contact us so we may help you understand.

How do I get a bookstore voucher?

If you have an excess balance on your student ledger and  have all of your aid finalized you will be eligible for a bookstore voucher to charge your books.  The deadline to have all aid finalized is August 1st to ensure your voucher will be available on August 5th.  It may take up to 2 weeks to process a voucher if aid is not finalized by August 1st.

Why do I always get selected for Verification?

30% of all FAFSAs are randomly pulled by the Dept. of Education processor for verification.  The school will also select a percentage of FAFSAs for the verification process.

Why don't I have any aid in my Student Portal?

Financial aid awards are not issued until the end of April for the upcoming Fall/Spring semester.  The aid is awarded in the order the FAFSA is received.
