The Presentation College Nursing Department is pleased to announce that four PC nursing students were recently elected to the South Dakota Nursing Student Association (NSASD) Executive Board.
Madison, Minn. Native Kelle Thompson, was elected as treasurer, Shelby Elsen, a Hecla, S.D. native was elected as web site administrator, Sydney Phillips, an Aberdeen native was elected as recording secretary, and Tegan McManaman, of Bowdle, S.D., was elected as parliamentarian. All four nursing students will be seniors next fall.
“We are so proud of Kelle, Shelby, Sydney, and Teagan,” said Dr. Sandra Welling, Nursing Department Chair at PC. “It is always great when one of our students is rewarded for their hard work, but to have PC students elected in four of 11 board positions is truly an honor and a testament to the type of nurses we develop at Presentation College.”
The board, which consist of 11 total members, is a pre-professional organization for the state and those connected with National Student Nurses Association (NSNA). It is comprised of students who are preparing for their RN Licensure. NSASD provides educational opportunities for student nurses through leadership, education, scholarship, legislature, and career networking.
