Mary has held many different positions in her chosen career
field. After getting a BS in biochemistry at MSU in Mankato,
MN she moved to Texas and worked in an Analytical
Neurochemistry research lab at the University of Texas.
While there she earned a composite science teaching
certificate and then taught high school chemistry
(honors/AP) in Houston, TX. She also taught Chemistry and
Biotechnology at Montgomery Community College, and at
the same time earned a Master’s degree in Chemistry from Sam
Houston State University. Upon graduation she worked as a
DNA/RNA/peptide chemist for a biotech company, Sigma Genosys,
doing various jobs ranging from from research, product
development and production lab supervisor. Mary has also
worked in sales as a technical specialist for VWR
International, providing laboratory equipment and supplies
to scientific customers located in a 21 state region of the
U.S. and in any and all types of laboratory settings.
Currently, she is back doing what she enjoys the
most—teaching at the college level.
