Each semester the Lakota Campus in Eagle Butte, South Dakota, becomes the central learning center for many Native American students. The Lakota Campus serves as an outreach campus of Presentation College. The Lakota Campus began in 1979 when the Cheyenne River Tribe approached the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the sponsors of Presentation College in Aberdeen, about developing a Nursing program on the reservation. Today the Lakota Campus in Eagle Butte offers multiple degree plans and has had many distinguished graduates in its more than 30 year history.
