Dr. Vander Hoek earned an Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology from Presentation College in 1978 and a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Services Administration from Presentation College in 1995. She graduated from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX in 2000, with a Master’s of Science Degree in Radiologic Sciences. She was employed by Avera St. Luke’s Hospital in Aberdeen from 1980 to 1997. She held the position of Radiologic Technology Program Director for 25 years and Allied Health Department Chair for nine years. She earned her Doctorate Degree in the Higher Education Administration from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. Professional memberships include: American Society of Radiologic Technologists, South Dakota Society of Radiologic Technologists, Association of Collegiate Educators in Radiologic Technology, and Association of Educators in Imaging and Radiologic Sciences. Dr. Vander Hoek has been a site visitor for the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology for 12 years.
