History of Presentation College

Presentation College marks it founding date in 1951, but the current College was preceded by Nursing schools and a Junior College supported by the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. These schools eventually developed into the College as it exists today.  Since the main campus opened its doors in 1951, PC has also expanded to a number of satellite campuses and an online, PC Virtual program.

Presentation College counts among its alumni the graduates of the Presentation Schools of Nursing at St. Luke’s, St. Joseph’s, Holy Rosary and McKennan, as well as Notre Dame Junior College. We are proud to have alumni who received degrees from the main campus in Aberdeen, as well as distant campuses at Fairmont, Minn.; Eagle Butte, S.D.; and Sioux Falls, S.D.

All told, more than 10,000 students have received degrees from Presentation College. In the early years, most of these graduates were in Nursing. More recently, our alumni have graduated and gone on to work in not only Nursing and various other medical fields, but also Business, Psychology, Biology, Athletic Training, Education, Religious Studies, Social Work and more.

Presentation College is pleased to welcome alumni back to campus for special events throughout the year, including SAINTS Athletic events, our “Halo Days” Homecoming week, our annual Black & White Ball, and our annual Mardis Gras scholarship fundraiser at Fairmont.
