The success of any health care setting can often be traced back to the individuals who lead the administrative aspects of the operation—medical office administrators. The medical office administration program at Presentation is highlighted by its online delivery, personalized attention from faculty, and well-rounded curriculum.
The medical office administration program is an Associate of Science degree program that’s delivered 100 percent online. You’ll develop skills in one of the fastest growing professional fields in the country and explore areas like medical terminology, computer applications, medical billing, medical coding, medical transcription, medical insurance claims, and other administrative skills. And your perspective will be broadened by developing essential critical thinking and communication skills that will empower you to be a successful member of any health care team.
As a student in the medical office, you’ll engage in extensive hands-on learning opportunities and enjoy our low student-to-faculty ratio of 12 to 1. Many of our students are working professionals and are able to apply what they learn in class directly to their job the very next day. You can customize your program of study by including courses in business, health science, medical assisting, and other areas as a way to enhance your knowledge and abilities and make yourself more marketable in the professional world.
When you successfully complete the medical office administration program you’ll be able to pursue national certification through NHA to obtain the CMAA. It’s also common for students in the program to use their associate’s degree in medical office administration as a foundation and then add a certification in medical coding or other areas to expand their career options.
