Welcome to the on-line home of Recent Headlines: Amanda Jensen and Liz Deibert named to UMAC All-Conference Team! 11/11 -- Amanda Jensen was selected by the conference coaches to the 2009 UMAC 1st Team All-Conference list. Jensen started all 18 games, played every minute of every game, finished with a school-record 11 goals, 3 assists, for 25 total points (also school record). Congratulations Amanda on a strong 2009 season! We expect nothing less next season. 11/11 -- Liz Deibert was selected by the conference coaches to the 2009 UMAC 1st Team All-Conference list. As a freshman soccer player, Liz started all 19 games for the Saints, playing in every minute of every game until the 2nd half of the last game when she went down with an ankle injury. Liz was the anchor of the Saints defense and played a pivotal role in the Saints improved offensive attack. Congratulations Liz on a strong 2009 season! Saints lose final match of 2009 Season 10/31 -- On Halloween day, the Saints Womens Soccer team, traveled to Morris, MN, to play University of Minnesota Morris. The Saints played hard, however, found themselves behind 3-0 at the half. After losing Liz Deibert to injury in the first half, the woman played short for the remainder of the match. Steph Mastel finished the match with 10 saves in the net for the Saints. This marked the final match of the 2009 season for the women. Saints lose 2 on the road 10/24 -- On a chilly Saturday the Saints visited conference leaders, St. Scholastica. The Saints were unable to get anything going on the offensive side of the ball and lost the match 9-0. PC was outshot 50-0 for the day. Steph Mastel played very well in the net for the Saints and she finished the match with an outstanding 23 saves. 10/25 -- On Sunday, the Saints played Northland College in Ashland, WI. Very cold and very wet conditions made the field nearly unplayable as the game was caled with 20 minutes remaining. For the 2nd day in a row the Saints struggled to find their offense as they lost 9-0. The visiting Saints were outshot 23-2 and Steph Mastel finished the match with 11 saves. Saints play well but lose 2 at home over the weekend 10/16 -- On Friday the Saints hosted UMAC opponent Bethany Lutheran. PC found themselves down 3-0 until Amanda Jensen scored with 9 minutes left in the first half when she found the back of the net off of a corner kick. Jensen didn't wait long to find the net again as she scored 6 minutes into the 2nd half on an assist from Ashley Larsen to make it 3-2. The Saints were pushing forward trying to tie the game when Bethany netted a late goal to make the game 4-2 in favor of the guests. Steph Mastel had her second consecutive strong showing in the net as she finished the day with 10 saves. 10/17 -- On Saturday the Saints hosted another UMAC opponent, this time Martin Luther. As she has done all season, Amanda Jensen scored for the Saints 13 minutes into the game with an assist credited to Sara Gregersen. The visitors then rattled off 3 unanswered goals to win the game 3-1. Both teams finished the game with 12 shots. Saints lose 2 on the road over the weekend 10/9 -- On Friday the Saints traveled to St. Paul to take on conference foe Northwestern College. The Saints lost 10-0 in a match that they were outshot 16-1. Lacey Powell finished the game with 5 saves. 10/10 -- On Saturday the Saints played on a snow-covered field on the campus of Crown College in St. Bonifacius, MN. Again the Saints were outshot, this time 20-2. Steph Mastel got her first collegiate goalkeeping experience and stopped 16 out of 20 shots. The Saints feel short, 4-0. Saints play host to conference foes Northland College and The College of Saint Scholastica 10/3 -- On a cold and wet Saturday afternoon the Saints took on Northland College at Saints Field in Aberdeen. Again, playing with a lot of heart the Women were unable to keep the ball out of there own net as they lost 10-1. Getting the Saints on the board was Sara Gregersen when she scored off of a corner kick served in by Amanda Jensen in the 55th minute. The Saints finished the game with 12 shots and 7 of those being on target. 10/4 -- On Sunday afternoon the Saints hosted conference leaders College of Saint Scholastica. Knowing they were playing a very talented team the Saints played defensively the best they could but still ended up on the wrong side of an 8-0 scoreline. Sara Gregersen had 12 saves in the net for the Saints who faced 21 shots on goal from the visitors. Saints lose to Crown and Northwestern in home conference action 9/25 -- The Saints Women Soccer team took on Crown College on Friday in a UMAC conference game in Aberdeen. The visitors from Crown came out on top with an 8-2 victory. The Saints got on the board first on a 6th minute goal by Amanda Jensen and again in the 77th minute on a goal by Chelsey Stanley with a beautiful assist credited to Amy Palmer. 9/26 -- On Saturday the Saints Women faced another conference foe in the form of Northwestern College. Unable to find the net the Saints lost 6-0. Injuries and people playing in different positions seemed to be a problem as the Saints were unable to put a complete soccer game together. Sara Gregersen, in her first game as a collegiate goalie, finished the game with an amazing 19 saves on 25 shots. Saints Find Success over weekend 9/18 -- On Friday the Saints took on the Knights from Martin Luther for their 2nd conference match of the season. The Saints took little time to find the back of the net as Sydney Goehring opened the scoring in the 5th minute on a beautiful assist from Amanda Jensen. Goehring returned the favor only 4 minutes later as she assisted on Jensen's first goal of the game. Jensen notched her 2nd goal of the game 9 minutes later as the Saints took a 3-0 lead into the half. The Knights cut the lead to 3-1 at the beginning of the 2nd half before Jensen completed the Hat-Trick in the 70th minute on a nice assist from Amanda Huss. Amanda Jensen's Hat-Trick marks the first ever in PC Women's Soccer History!!! 9/19-- On Saturday the Saints faced conference for Bethany Lutheran in Mankato. After having much success on Friday the women came out a little flat and found themselves down 3-0 at half. The Vikings from Bethany continued the scoring as they mounted a 5-0 lead before Amanda Jensen scored her 7th goal of the season as the game ended 5-1. Jensen now holds the record for goals scored in a season for the PC Women's Soccer Program! Saints Lose Conference Opener for University of Minnesota Morris 9/15 -- In their 3rd game and 4 days the Saints ran into another highly skilled team from Minnesota Morris. The Saints quickly fell behind 6-0 before Sara Gregersen got the Saints on the board right before the halftime whistle to end the half 6-1. After 3 more goals from the Cougars the Saints countered with a goal apiece from Amanda Jensen and Sydney Goehring. Though the Saints fought hard the game ended in the Cougars favor 11-3. Saints run into stiff competition at St. Kates Invitational in St. Paul, MN. 9/12-9/13 -- On Saturday the Saints ran into Clarke College, out of Iowa and saw their first real challenge of the season. Clarke College beat the women 13-0 on a hot afternoon. It wasn't the best performance for the Saints but they did show some resolve by not giving up considering the score. On Sunday the Saints found themselves up against the wall again as Buena Vista out of Iowa beat the women 10-1. The women came out flat against B.V. in the first half and found themselves down again. After making some changes at half they came out with a new desire and played the best half of soccer of the season. Sydney Goehring assisted Amanda Jensen's goal in the second half. Saints earn first victory of the season over Bismarck State College. 9/9 -- The Saints had their home opener on Wednesday and took full advantage of the home crowd by coming out on top with a 3-0 victory over Bismarck State College. Opening the scoring for the Saints was Amanda Jensen in the 6th minute with an assist from Sydney Goehring. Sara Gregerson netted the final two goals in the 15th and 16th minutes to complete to scoring for the Saints. Amanda Jensen assisted Gregersen's 2nd goal. Lacey Powell earned her first shutout of the season by making two saves in the contest. Defensively the Saints played very well for the second match in a row thanks to stellar play by Lynette Tarnowski, Liz Deibert, Steph Mastel and Amy Palmer. Now 1-0-1 on the season the Saints next matches are September 12th &13th as they head to St. Paul to play in the St. Kate's invitational. Possible opponents; Clarke College, St. Kate, and Buena Vista. Saints tie with North Central University in season opener 9/1 -- The Presentation College Women's soccer team opened their season against North Central University with a non-conference match played in Coon Rapids, MN. After regulation and two overtime periods the match ended in a 1-1 tie. Rachel Schmidt had the Saints lone goal coming five minutes into the second half. NCU tied the match three minutes later. Lacey Powell finished the game with 6 saves on 7 shots in her first appearance in the net. The Saints return to action on Wednesday with their home opener against Bismarck State College at 3 pm on Saints Field in Aberdeen.
Saints drop final pair of 2008 contests as
The
Presentation College Saints dropped their
final two women's soccer contests of 2008,
falling to Morris on Thursday (3-1) and
Saturday (1-0). The Saints finish the season
with a 1-16-1 overall record, including
going 1-13 in the UMAC.

Despite facing two of the top three teams in
the conference this weekend, the
Presentation College Women's Soccer team
played extremely well, and had its chances
before ultimately falling in a pair of
conference games. The Saints were beaten by
St. Scholastica 3-1 on Saturday before
falling to Northland 5-1 on Sunday.
