Saints struggle in
pair of contests, return home for weekend
(October 18, 2008)
Presentation College's Women's Soccer team
struggled in a pair of contests on the road,
falling to Martin Luther and Bethany
Lutheran in a pair of UMAC contests.
Presentation's lone goal of the weekend came in the 59th minute of
action on Saturday at Martin Luther, as
Sydney Goehring (Fr., Aberdeen) scored
unassisted to bring the Saints back to a
one-goal deficit at 2-1. However,
Presentation would allow a pair of goals
after Goehring's tally, and would fall to
the Knights 4-1.
Presentation, now 1-9 in the UMAC and 1-12-1 overall, will return
to action on Saturday and Sunday in
Aberdeen, as they play host to St.
Scholastica and Northland College. Both
games will be played at Saints Field on the
campus of Presentation College.

(October 15, 2008)

team dropped a 9-0 decision on Wednesday
afternoon to MIAC foe Bethel University. The

PC will return to action this weekend, as they head to Bethany
Lutheran and Martin Luther in a pair of road
contests. Earlier this season, the Saints
earned a victory over Bethany Lutheran in
double-overtime, while falling to Martin
Luther 2-0 a day earlier.
Saints road woes
continue, drop pair of UMAC contests
(October 5, 2008)
Despite struggling through some nagging
injuries, the Presentation College Saints
competed this weekend at Northland College
and St. Scholastica, falling to
multiple-goal defeats at each venue.
Presentation would fall behind 2-0 in the first half against
Northland College, and see that lead expand
to a 6-0 final tally. The Saints struggles
would continue in to Sunday, as they fell to
St. Scholastica 5-1, but not before
Christina Kusler booted in her first goal of
the season in the final minute of play.
Rachel Scott would also reset her own
single-game saves record, as she stopped 28
shots in the contest. Scott now has 166
saves on the season, and is well on her way
to snapping the single-season mark.
PC will return to action on Friday afternoon in Aberdeen, as they
host Northwestern College in a 1:00 PM match
at Saints field.
Scott improves upon
personal best and school record in saves, as
Saints drop pair of UMAC games
(September 27, 2008)
Rachel Scott (Fr., Aberdeen)
continued her recent hot streak this
weekend, as she stopped another 39 shots in
a pair of UMAC games in which Presentation
dropped to Crown (2-0) and
Northwestern(3-1). Scott made a
school-record 27 saves in Friday's game
against Crown College, and followed that up
with 12 more against Northwestern.
Presentation's lone goal of the weekend came from Amanda Jensen
(Fr., Watertown, S.D.) in the 79th minute of
play against Northwestern off of an assist
from Christina Kusler (Fr.,
Aberdeen).
The Saints, now 1-5-1 overall, and 1-3 in UMAC play, will return to

games on Friday and Saturday.

Saints net first
victory in nearly two
years, split on UMAC opening weekend
(September 21, 2008)
The
Saints women's soccer team snagged their
first win in over 30 games on Saturday, as
they defeated Bethany Lutheran College in a
2-1 double-overtime contest. Earlier in the
weekend, the Saints fell at the hands of
Martin Luther 2-0, with both games being
played in Aberdeen.
Saturday's game saw Presentation fall behind as Joelle Pipal scored
just under two minutes into the second half
after both teams had played a scoreless
first half. The Saints would rebound
however, as Sydney Goehring scored from 25
yards out to tie the score at one with less
than 15 minutes to play. After playing
through a scoreless first overtime, the
Saints would find their game-winning goal in
the 103rd minute of play, as Christina
Kusler (Fr., F, Aberdeen) set up
Amanda Jensen (Fr., M/F, Watertown) on a
break-away that Jensen nailed from fifteen
yards out.
The Saints, now 1-3-1 overall and 1-1 in the UMAC, will return to
action next weekend on the road, as they
travel to play Crown College on Friday
afternoon and Northwestern College on
Saturday afternoon. The Saints will return
home again on October 10th against the same
Northwestern squad.
Saints sweep UMAC
Player-of-the-Week Honors
(September 16, 2008)

Presentation College
earned a draw thanks to efforts from UMAC
Players-of-the-Week
Rachel Scott (Left) and Chelsey Stanley
(Right).
The
Presentation College Saints swept the UMAC
Player-of-the-Week awards this week, thanks
to earning a draw in action on Saturday
against North Central University.
Rachel Scott (Fr., G, Aberdeen, S.D.) earned Defensive
Player-of-the-Week honors after nearly
posting the first shut-out of her career on
Saturday. Scott made double-digit saves for
the third time on the year, and narrowly
missed out on posting her first career
victory in the match. Chelsey Stanley
(So., F, Groton, S.D.) scored the go-ahead
goal for the Saints early in the first half,
and narrowly missed on a pair of other
shots-on-goal later in the game.
The Saints, now 0-2-1 on the season, will begin UMAC Conference
Play this weekend as they host Bethany
Lutheran and Martin Luther on Friday and
Saturday afternoons.
Saints hang on for
draw against NorthCentral
(September 13, 2008)
The
Presentation College Saints Women's Soccer
team battled to a tie - its first in nearly
three years - on Saturday at a soaked Saints
Field against non-conference opponent
NorthCentral University of Minnesota.
Presentation's first goal of the season was scored early in the
first half, as Chelsey Stanley punched a
shot through just seven minutes into the
game off of an assist from Amanda Jensen.
The Saints would hold the slim 1-0 lead for
the entire first half, before succumbing to
a Jennifer Cline goal just three minutes
into the second half. Neither the Saints nor
the Rams would be able to score again, and
the game ended after a pair of scoreless
overtimes.
Presentation, now 0-2-1 on the year, will host Martin Luther
College at home on Friday the 19th at 4 PM,
followed by a game with Bethany Lutheran on
Saturday the 20th at 2 PM. Both games will
be played at Saints Field, on the campus of
Presentation College.
Saints open year with
pair of non-conference losses
(September 6, 2008)
The Presentation College Saints Women's
Soccer team struggled through a pair of
tough non-conference losses to begin this
season, first at the hands of Carthage
College of Wisconsin at a tournament in
Storm Lake, Iowa, and then to St. Mary's
University of Winona, Minn.
While the Saints have been bested in each of their
first two contests, the team has shown some
bright spots. First and foremost, the play
of Freshman Goalie Rachel Scott
(Aberdeen, S.D.) has been impressive in the
early campaign. Scott, who anchored the past
three Aberdeen Central Golden Eagle teams
from in front of the net, has stopped 35
shots already in just two games, putting her
on pace for a Freshman record at PC.
The Saints, now 0-2 on the season, will return to
action on Saturday afternoon against
NorthCentral University at Saints Field in
Aberdeen. Game time is scheduled for Noon.
