Saints find victory column, take down Crown in five
(October 9, 2008)

The Presentation College Volleyball Saints found the win column for the first time in 2008 on Thursday night, as they defeated the Crown College Storm in five games. The Saints jumped out to an early 1-0 lead (25-23) before surrendering game two (22-25). The Saints would capture game three (27-25), drop game four (14-25) before finishing the Storm off in game five 15-12 by running off the final six points of the game in a row.
Presentation won in large part thanks to solid efforts by Heidi Meier (21 kills, 14 digs, .222 attack pct.), Becky Smith (14 kills, .191 attack pct.) and Amanda Feist (12 kills, .357 attack pct.). The Saints also benefitted from eight service aces and five blocks.
The Saints, now 1-14 overall and 1-4 in the UMAC will return to action today as they face Northwestern College at 7 PM in Roseville, Minnesota.

Sioux fend off Saints
(October 7, 2008)

After the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux experienced a pair of close games in their match with Presentation College in late September in Aberdeen, the Sioux made sure to come out focus and prepared for their rematch with the Saints Tuesday night, winning a 3-0 match that took less than an hour to play. The Sioux recorded 46 kills in the three games, while holding the Saints to just 15.
Presentation will continue to look to crack into the win column this week, as they travel to Crown College for a 7 PM game on Thursday, followed by another 7 PM contest at Northwestern College in St. Paul.

Saints compete, narrowly fall to pair of UMAC foes
(October 4, 2008)

Despite posting some of their strongest statistical performances on the year, the Saints Volleyball team dropped a pair of matches this weekend to in-conference opponents St. Scholastica and Northland College. PC lost to St. Scholastica in three sets on Friday night, before falling in a back-and-forth match with Northland in five sets.
Presentation's Heidi Meier (Sr., Marshall, Minn.) continued to add to her school-record kill total by adding thirty additional kills; Meier now has 1,218 kills in her four-year career. Meier posted her second and third highest single-match totals of the season for kills this weekend, recording 16 against Northland and 14 in the contest against Scholastica. Becky Smith (Jr., Litchfield, Minn.) also posted a solid weekend, as she hit .224, while recording 17 kills in just 58 attempts. Smith also posted 32 digs, 1 solo block and 3 assisted blocks.
The Saints will return to action tomorrow evening, as they travel to Grand Forks for a return trip to face the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux. The Sioux defeated Presentation 3-0 earlier this season in Aberdeen. The Saints will not return home again until October 24, when they host Bethany Lutheran in UMAC Conference Action.
