Presentation jumped out to an early lead on Bethany on Friday night, capturing the first set 25-23, but was unable to score more than 15 points in any of the following three sets. Saints win first set of the year, but struggle in Dallas
(September 6, 2008)

The Saints volleyball team experienced some successes and growth this past weekend at the University of Dallas invitational tournament, despite losing all four matches against tough Division-Three competition. Coach Chelsey Albrecht saw her team lose in straight-sets to Hendrix College of Arkansas, the University of Dallas and Austin College (Texas) before battling with Concordia-Texas in the final match of the weekend for the Saints.
The Saints would drop game one of the match 25-11, but would rebound behind a season-high 14 kills in a 25-23 victory in game two. Game three proved to be the turning point in the match, as Presentation held a 23-18 lead late. However, Concordia would rally back to make it a 23-all tie on the strength of five straight kills. A service error would give the Saints a chance to take the game, but Concordia would fight through to get yet another kill to even the game at 24-all. Another service error gave the Saints a second chance to finish the game, but Concordia would record their ninth and final kill of the third game to end the Saints serve, and then come back to win the game at 28-26 on the succeeding rally. Concordia would ride the momentum to a 25-14 victory in the fourth and final game to end Presentation's tournament.
The Saints (0-6) now have this week off, and will return to action on September 19 in Yankton, S.D. as they take on Mt. Marty. Game time is set for 7 P.M. in the Cimpl events center.
