Romero captures
second UMAC Player-of-the-Week Award
(October 28, 2008)

Joe Romero claimed his
second UMAC Defensive Player-of-the-Week
honor of the year on Tuesday.
Joe
Romero (Soph., Lemitar, N.Mex.) was awarded
the UMAC Defensive Player-of-the-Week for
Men's Soccer for his efforts this past week.
This is the third time in his career that
Romero has been selected as the conference
player of the week, and the second time this
season.
Romero posted back-to-back shutouts last weekend, as he stopped all
13 shots on goal that he faced in contests
with UMAC foes St. Scholastica and Northland
College. Romero has now stopped the last 25
shots on goal that he has faced, and has not
allowed a goal in his last 402 minutes of
play. The last goal scored on the Saints and

as the Saints return to action on Thursday
afternoon for a 1 PM contest at the
University of Minnesota-Morris.

(October 26, 2008)
The
Presentation College Saints Men's Soccer
team stayed hot this weekend, as they
notched a pair of victories over UMAC

the UMAC Final Four Conference Tournament.
The Saints defeated St. Scholastica for just
the second time in school history on
Saturday afternoon 1-0, and followed that up
with another 1-0 victory over Northland on
Sunday.
Presentation relied on stellar team defense to neutralize both the
Scholastica and Northland attack over the
weekend, as Sophomore Goalkeeper Joe
Romero (Lemitar, N.Mex.) notched his
third and fourth shutouts in a row. PC's
Kris Harry scored the lone goal of
Saturday's contest on a 30-yard boot that
sailed into goal over the outstretched arms
of the Scholastica goalie; meanwhile
