Head volleyball coach resigns at Presentation College
ABERDEEN, S.D. – Head volleyball coach & senior women’s administrator April Coyne has resigned her post at Presentation College, effective as of February 18. A search to find her replacement is expected to be completed within the next few days.
Coyne had a 12-18 record during her one-year coaching stint at Presentation. Coyne’s lone season also saw the Saints post a 4-10 mark in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play, good for a fifth-place tie.
In announcing the resignation, Athletic Director Rick Kline said, “April Coyne has been an incredible asset to the College. She has had a significant impact on our volleyball program and all the student-athletes she has worked with.”
Coyne’s players received several individual honors this past season, including United States Collegiate Athletics Association (USCAA) All-American and UMAC First-Team All-Conference Outside Hitter Heidi Meier (Jr., Marshall, Minn.). Meier will look to be Presentation’s first three-time All-American and All-Conference athlete in volleyball next season.
Coyne also had two Academic All-American honorees during her lone season of coaching: Angel VanEidie (Sr., Libero, Badger, S.D.) and Meghan Schmidt (So., DS, Selby, S.D.).
