Wein Gallery announces student exhibit
ABERDEEN, S.D. -- The Wein Gallery at Presentation College in Aberdeen is proud to announce "Yours Truly," an exhibit by Northern State University student Stephanie Folk. The show features a series of acrylic paintings exploring hands.
Folk, a senior from Big Stone City, S.D., drew inspiration from her own life to create the pieces in the show.
"I paint things that remind me of happy moments," Folk said. "This series started last year with a couple of paintings I intended to use for my wedding."
Folk is currently pursuing a double major in Fine Arts and Ad Design from NSU. She hopes to continue to cultivate her talent and explore working with hands more in-depth.
"I find the subject extremely challenging," Folk said. "I’ve now worked with hands young and old and am hoping to experiment with different skin colors later this year."
The exhibit runs through Feb. 15. Admission to the gallery is free. Gallery hours run 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 1 p.m.-7 p.m. on Saturdays.
