Lakota Campus Director Julie Thorstenson

New Director Joins Presentation College-Lakota Campus

 Julie Thorstenson has been appointed as the Director of Presentation College-Lakota Campus.  Thorstenson begins her new position on September 4.

 A native of Isabel, SD, Thorstenson graduated from South Dakota State University with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Biology.  She previously worked as a Habitat Biologist for the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Game, Fish and Parks Department. 

 Thorstenson is a member of the Native American Fish and Wildlife Society and the West River Women’s Leadership Circle.  She is also a member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe.

 Thorstenson is eager to begin her new role directing the Lakota Campus.  “I am looking forward to working with the community to expand and improve higher education in our region,” said Thorstenson.

 Thorstenson’s husband, Justin, is an Aberdeen native and works as a power lineman for Moreau-Grand Electric Cooperative.  She has two step-daughters, Autumn and Alix, daughter Tayla and son Treg.
