Presentation College to host 57th annual commencement ceremony
ABERDEEN, S.D.--Presentation College’s largest graduating class to date will be presented with degrees during the 57th annual commencement ceremony Saturday, May 10, 2008.
South Dakota State Senator Nancy Turbak Berry will deliver the keynote address at the ceremony, which will be held in the Strode Activity Center. Turbak Berry will deliver remarks to a graduating class of 171 students.
A graduate of Harvard College, Turbak Berry earned her law degree from the University of California Berkeley in 1981. She was elected in 2006 to serve in the South Dakota state Senate on behalf of District 5 in Watertown, and is currently one of five women in the Senate. In addition, Turbak Berry is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, a past president of both the South Dakota chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates and the South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association, and the 1997 SDTLA Trial Lawyer of theYear.
Bishop Paul J. Swain, the eighth bishop of the Diocese of Sioux Falls, will preside at commencement Mass. He was named a Prelate of Honor by Pope John Paul II and was ordained as the bishop of the Diocese of Sioux Falls in October 2006.
Commencement Mass begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, in the Strode Activity Center, with the commencement ceremony at 2 p.m. A reception for graduates and their families will immediately follow. The commencement Mass and ceremony are open to the public.
