Presentation College to Hold New Student Orientation

New freshmen at Presentation College’s Aberdeen campus will participate in New Student Orientation August 24-28.  The theme, Orient8, will prepare students for life at Presentation College.  “Orientation has lots of fun activities that will help students learn more about Presentation College and Aberdeen,” said Britt Chohon, Coordinator of Student Activities and Campus Ministry.

The College will host numerous social activities to help freshman students get to know each other, including a new student dance and bonfire, casino night, performance by hypnotist Brad Clark, swimming and bowling.  Students will get a chance to meet their academic advisors and participate in The College Experience class.  “The College Experience Class helps students get to know their classmates and to become aware of the tools for student success,” said Chohon.

On Monday, August 27 freshman students will participate in the Day of Caring, volunteering at Safe Harbor, Salvation Army, YMCA, Habitat for Humanity and the City of Ipswich.  Day of Caring is a program of the College’s Character Initiative.  The Character Initiative enhances student learning by promoting community involvement and volunteerism.  “The volunteer projects instill an attitude of life-long service to the community and others,” said Chohon.

Non-traditional and transfer student registration will be held on Tuesday, August 28.  Final registration for freshman students will also be on the 28th.
