Medical Assisting
Medical assistants serve in a number of aspects of patient care.  They are instrumental to getting patients prepared for the provider, including taking vitals, a brief history, and making sure the patients are comfortable.  They serve as a communication link between the physicians and the patients.

Duties of medical assistants include:

  • Interviewing patients
  • Maintaining medical records
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Phlebotomy
  • Transcription
  • Performing diagnostic tests

Medical assistants are trained in three areas of curriculum: interdisciplinary, administrative and clinical.  This allows for the use of medical assistants in many different areas of health care.

Graduates of Presentation College obtain an Associate of Science degree, which includes a supervised externship at a clinical facility.  You can find a complete list of required courses by clicking here.
