ABERDEEN, S.D. – Presentation College has been notified by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), 3343 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 850, Atlanta, GA 30326, Telephone 404-975-5000, that: “The Board of Commissioners voted to deny continuing accreditation for the baccalaureate nursing program.”
Presentation College is shocked and disappointed by this decision. It will immediately and vigorously appeal this decision. PC is confident the appeal process will reaffirm the Evaluation Review Panel’s Recommendation to accept PC’s Follow-Up Report dated October 1, 2013. Until the disposition of this appeal, PC’s nursing program retains its accreditation status.
“We feel that we have one of the best nursing programs in the region,” said Dr. Margaret A. Huber, Presentation College President. “Our outstanding NCLEX scores and learning outcomes demonstrate this, year after year. We remain committed to meeting the challenge of providing first-rate rural healthcare professional education.”
NCLEX examinations are designed to test the knowledge, skills and abilities essential for the safe and effective practice of nursing at the entry-level. Presentation College’s pass rates have been at or above the national average for the last five years.
Presentation College’s nursing program is approved by the South Dakota and Minnesota Boards of Nursing. Presentation College maintains full accreditation with the Higher Learning Commission.
More information will be made available as the appeal process continues.
