Presentation College Student Ambassadors plan to brave the cold Friday to hold “Freezin’ for a Reason”, a fundraiser to raise awareness for homelessness and collect donations to feed and clothe the hungry. The PC student-led group will be accepting donations from community members outside of Kessler’s Grocery Store Friday, Jan. 24 from 4- 10 p.m.
“The Presentation College Student Ambassadors are a campus club that work toward involving our school and students in the Aberdeen community. Through our “Freezin’ for a Reason” fundraiser, PC students give up a portion of their day to help raise awareness and aid those who are in need,” said Ericka Grimm, PC Student Ambassador President. “It will be a very rewarding experience for everyone involved.”
The PC students will withstand the elements to collect canned food, non-perishable food items and gently-used winter clothing. All donations will benefit Safe Harbor and the Salvation Army.
“Through this fundraiser and community service, we’re striving to better ourselves, not only as a school or community, but also as individuals,” said Grimm. “We’re really hoping that the community responds, this is an great way to give back.”
