PC invites community to study abroad 2014

Area residents are invited to travel to the British Isles with Presentation College’s Study Abroad program this spring.

 

The program will take place March 8 through March 16, 2014, for students and community members interested in traveling abroad and experiencing the many sights of the multi-city trek though England, Ireland and Wales.

 

“’Landmarks in the British Isles’ features a great opportunity for students and community members to tour Ireland, Wales, and England to see centuries old castles of the medieval period as well as the architectural influence of Christopher Wren throughout the city of London,” said Dr. Brad Tennant, associate professor of history. “In addition, visiting Ireland, the home of Nano Nagle, is a great way to appreciate the connection between Presentation College and the Presentation Sisters.  Given that Nano Nagle is the foundress of the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, who are the sponsors of Presentation College, this is a wonderful way to learn more about this remarkable woman.”

 

Besides Tennant, who will help lead the trip and teach a History course, Assistant Professor of Business Larry Lovrien will accompany the study abroad experience and teach a Business course. Students and community members uninterested in taking either course are encouraged to come and enjoy the trip.

 

On the eight day tour, participants will partake in multiple guided tours, see the birthplace of Shakespeare, visit the Windsor Castle, explore the St. Patrick’s Cathedral, take a sightseeing tour of Dublin, and much more. 

 

“The British Isles tour offers a unique blend of history, culture, and breath-taking landscapes,” said Jennifer Wegleitner, department chair of business. “This trip is such an exceptional learning experience and is a great opportunity for students and faculty to interact with the community while exploring the beautiful sights of London, Dublin and Stratford.”

 

A non-refundable fee of $595 is due upon registration. The enrollment fee will be applied to the cost of travel. Spaces are limited, the deadline for sign-up is Nov. 25, 2013.
